Summary
The Department of Ecology is hiring a Senior Stormwater Project Specialist to join the Stormwater Action Team (SWAT), which partners with communities across Washington to fund and implement stormwater quality and green infrastructure projects. In this role, you will coordinate with local government project managers, evaluate new project applications, negotiate funding agreements, provide technical assistance throughout project lifecycles, and represent the team in cultural resource reviews with Tribes and state partners. You will ensure compliance with state and federal funding requirements while helping communities develop high-quality stormwater proposals and avoid common project pitfalls.
Key qualifications
- Nine years of environmental-based work experience including financial management, project oversight, and technical guidance
- Education in environmental, physical, or natural sciences; or related academic discipline
- Valid driver's license
- Experience monitoring and coordinating project progress with local governments
- Ability to communicate program requirements and results to partners and the public
- Experience with policy application and program administration
