Summary
The Research Scientist 4 serves as a Quality Improvement Monitor at Nathan Kline Institute/OMH, overseeing post-approval monitoring of human and animal research to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. This role collaborates on developing monitoring programs, conducting compliance reviews, investigating non-compliance issues, and providing education to the research community. The position reports to the Chief Research Compliance Officer and works with IBR, the research arm of New York State's Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.
Key qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and five years of professional research experience in an appropriate field
- Certification by SOCRA, SCDM, ACRP, or comparable professional organization (preferred)
- Two years' experience of compliance monitoring
- Five years' experience conducting human subjects research
- Direct interaction with FDA, NIMH, or pharmaceutical monitors including attending monitoring visits and drafting corrective action plans
