Summary
This Director role oversees the statewide Entrepreneurship Assistance Centers network and administers federally and state-funded entrepreneur development programs for Empire State Development. Reporting to the VP of Entrepreneur Development, the position manages program operations, budgets, contracts, staff supervision, and serves as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders supporting business formation and economic opportunity across New York State.
Key qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Development, Finance, or Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of experience in micro-business development, not-for-profit organization management, government program management, and entrepreneurship training
- Strong organizational, communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills
- Computer skills in Microsoft Dynamics, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Management tools (Asana, Monday.com, etc.)
- Awareness of ESD and other public funding programs
