Summary
The Data Analyst 1 position is located within the Division of Data Management in the New York Department of State's Office of Agency Transformation and External Affairs. Under supervision of a Data Analyst 2, the analyst will provide data management services across the department's lifecycle, including designing and implementing data processing solutions, maintaining technical documentation, developing data extraction and quality assurance tools, and supporting staff training in data literacy. The role works with tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Azure, Excel, and ArcGIS Online.
Key qualifications
- Four years of experience in data visualization, statistical models, and data mining tools, plus completion of a two-year traineeship, or six years of such experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to explain data analysis methods and results clearly
- Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or related field
- Experience in development or administration of training activities
- Experience in facilitation or conflict management
