The Department of Central Management Services is seeking a beginning professional to serve as an Internal Auditor Trainee in the Bureau of Internal Audit. Under direct supervision for up to 12 months, the trainee will participate in an agency-sponsored audit training program, learning to conduct preliminary reviews and simple or sections of complex internal audits of state agencies' programs and operations. By the end of the trainee period, the auditor should be able to perform audits independently.
Key qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with coursework in accounting, auditing, business management, public administration, economics, computer science, or related subjects
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe PDF preferred
- Professional experience with internal or external audits preferred
- Twelve (12) semester hours in accounting coursework preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to travel with overnight stays as appropriate
