Summary
The Chief Accountability Officer serves as the Bureau Chief for the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services' Division of Finance, Bureau of Accountability and Compliance. This position implements and oversees the Department's grant accountability program, ensuring compliance with the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA), manages the SMART application and policy, and conducts overall fiscal monitoring for grants, contracts, and agreements. The role works closely with executive financial leadership, the Office of the General Counsel, and other departmental organizations, and serves as a full line supervisor.

- Four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in fiscal management, accounting, budgeting, internal auditing, grant administration, and/or finance
- Four years of professional experience with fiscal monitoring and compliance with grants, contracts, and agreements
- Four years of professional experience with financial methods and procedures to assess financial stability and risk of Federal and State grant recipients
- Four years of professional supervisory experience with management and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in finance, business or public administration, or accounting preferred
