Summary
Insurance Rate & Policy Analyst IV examines and analyzes insurance policy provisions and rates for all classes of insurance and all insurance organizations subject to State regulation to ensure compliance with statutes, rules, and regulations and protect the public interest. The position is located in the Rate and Policy Analysis Branch of the Insurance Division within the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs on Oahu. Analysts conduct supporting research, recommend action on rates and policy provisions, and perform related duties as assigned.
Key qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with six semester credits in statistics and/or mathematics
- Two and one-half (2-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in the analysis of insurance rates and policies
- Experience examining insurance rates and rating procedures for conformance with insurance codes and rules
- Experience examining insurance policies for consistency, clarity, and proper coverage as required by insurance codes
- Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) or Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) certificate may substitute for one-half year of experience
- Successful completion of parts 3 through 6 of the Casualty Actuarial Society examinations may substitute for two years of experience
