Summary
Serves as the Division of Water's senior hydrologic technical expert, providing advanced review of complex public water supply permitting and source water protection projects. Leads hydrogeologic evaluations, develops technical guidance, and ensures compliance with state and federal water protection requirements. Provides technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for hydrology staff while coordinating with federal, state, and local agencies.
Key qualifications
- Master's degree in geology, hydrology, or related field; or Bachelor's degree plus Professional Geologist registration
- Three years of experience in hydrogeology and stratigraphy
- Three years of experience analyzing and interpreting hydrogeologic data and making technical recommendations
- Three years of experience in environmental or natural resources project management
- Three years of experience interpreting environmental laws, rules, regulations, standards, and policies
- Scientific prominence and recognition in geological or hydrological studies within a geographic region
