Summary
The Office of Policy and Management's Office of Labor Relations seeks Agency Labor Relations Specialist Trainees to provide consultative labor relations services to assigned state agencies. These full-time positions involve managing relationships between state employee bargaining units and agencies, handling investigations, contract negotiations, grievances, and arbitrations. Upon completion of the training period, successful candidates will be appointed to the Agency Labor Relations Specialist class.
Key qualifications
- Considerable oral and written communication skills and ability to understand and apply state and federal laws and regulations
- Experience in labor relations and/or human resources
- Experience analyzing and interpreting collective bargaining agreements, laws, regulations, policies and procedures
- Experience conducting employee investigations and making recommendations for corrective action
- Experience with performance management and conflict resolution for employees
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment
