Under the general direction of the Traffic Engineer Manager, this role directs project design activities for a design team within the Phoenix Department of Transportation. The position manages team resources, administrative needs, and oversees development of traffic engineering documents and standards. The Traffic Design Team Lead coaches subordinate staff, evaluates training needs, and represents the Traffic Engineering Group at meetings with other sections and outside agencies.
Key qualifications
- Registered Arizona Professional Engineering License (Civil) or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred
- Experience equivalent to Transportation Engineer I
- Valid Arizona state driver's license with acceptable 39-month driving history
- Project management and personnel management experience
